மாச சிவராத்ரியும், மஹா சிவராத்ரியும்!!

 

சந்திரமான நாள்காட்டியில் (lunar calendar), பௌர்ணமியே மாச ஆரம்பமாக கருதப்பட்டது. எந்த நக்ஷத்திரத்தில் சந்திரன் பௌர்ணமியாக வருகிறதோ, அந்த நக்ஷத்திரத்தையே மாசத்தின் பெயராக வைத்தனர், 

உதாரணமாக, ம்ரிகர்ஷீஷம் - மார்கழி, பூசம் - புஷ்ய /தை, மகம் - மாசி 

மாசிமாச மகமும், மஹாமகமும் (12 வருடங்கள்/ 12 ராசிகள் சங்கமிக்கும் போது ) யாவரும் அறிந்ததே!!

மக அல்லது மாசிமாதத்தில் வரும் பௌர்ணமி, சக்தி ரூபம் - மஹா சக்தி

மேலும், மக அல்லது மாசிமாதத்தில் பூமி, சூரிய சுழற்சியில் எங்கிருக்கிறது என்று பார்ப்போம்.

மேற்கண்ட படத்திலிருந்து பூமி, சூரியனுக்கு சமதளத்தில் (ஒரு யந்திரமாக பார்த்தால்), வடகிழக்கில் உள்ளது.

இது பூமியின் அச்சுக்காட்டும் வடகிழக்கிலிருந்து (ஈசானம் / celestial north / northeast axis path ), அபிஜித் / vega நக்ஷத்திர கூட்டத்திலிருந்து வேறானது.

ஆனால், இந்த சூரிய சமதளம் ஒரு ஈசான மூலைதான் !!

ஏனெனில், நாம் எந்த ஹோமத்தையும் ஆரம்பிக்கும்போது, பூமியின் / சூரியனின், சமதள வடகிழக்கையே (not  celestial north )ஈசானமாக கொள்கிறோம்..

அங்கே, ரிஷபாரூடரான சிவசங்கரனை சிவகாமி அன்னையுடன், மாசி மாச கிருஷ்ண பக்ஷ சதுர்தசி இரவில் தியானிப்பவர்கள் (சூரிய மஹ நக்ஷத்திர  அச்சில் பூமி இருக்கும் இரவில்) , 

அவர்களின் மஹ லோகத்தின் (ஸப்த வ்யாஹ்ருதியில் நாலாவது ) வழியாக ஸத்ய லோகத்தை அடைவார்கள்..

Five mantras are used to glorify Shiva out of which 4th and 5th widely used and known. 4th is Shiva or Mahadeva Gayathri. 

5th is used by yogis and siddhas  for identifying terrestrial escape path or the luminous path of Devas or towards Devas.

The 5th mantra "Esana sarva vidyanam eswara sarva bhootanaam, Brahmathipathir, Brahmano athipathir, Brahma Sivomae asthu Sadhasivom" 

Meaning, "From Esana ( north-east or magnetic pole or Star Vega in Lyra constellation ) direction came all vidya you see, the Lord of all bhootas or natural forces or beings is there, even the Head of Brahma and Brahmins is there, Brahma is Shiva in a celestial form, Sada Shiva He is, Om "

Ancient Vedic seers saw this constellation as a throne while other cultures saw it as a lion. Magha translates into “mighty”, “the beneficent”, “the great”, “the magnificent”, “the most important” or “the bountiful”. 

This translation immediately evokes a variety of meanings and feelings and as we shall see this nakshatra is true to its name.

Symbol:
Magha’s main symbol is a ‘throne’. As a matter of detail one can say it is a ‘royal chamber with a throne’. This symbolism immediately conjures up a picture of royalty, power, status, honour and the like. We can see that all these interpretations live up to the meanings, evoked by the name of this nakshatra.

However the bottom line of this symbolism lies in one word – “achievement”. After the struggles and tribulations of Ashlesha (previous nakshatra), it is now time for reaping rewards. In the material realm, Magha bestows this reward on natives under its influence through power, position, authority; and in the higher aspect, through self knowledge.

In many cases Magha can bestow all of this as a result purely through hereditary means or some sort of succession. They are still pretty much the same if one looks at the full picture.
